Makuuhuone Bedroom

Isovanhempien talossa on tapahtunut hieman edistystä. Olen  tapetoinut makuuhuoneen ja tehnyt sinne lattian. Olen tehnyt myös huonekaluja, mattoja ja sänkytekstiilit.

Some progress has been made in the grandparents' house. The walls of their bedroom have been wallpapered and the floor has been maid. I have made also some furniture, rugs and textiles for their double bed.

Aloitin sängystä. Se on kevytrakenteinen.

I started with the bed. It is a lightweight wooden bed.

Sängyn patja on pehmeä ja mukava.

The mattress of the bed is soft and comfortable.

Ompelin  ½ tuuman hexagoneista päiväpeitteen sekä mattoja. Hexagonien ompelu on aika hidasta puuhaa, koska kangas harsitaan pahvin ympärille ja ompelun jälkeen pahvi poistetaan. Lisäksi tein tyynyjä.

The bedspread is made of ½ inch hexagons.( I made also same kind of rugs and some pillows.)

Sängyn yläpuolella on vuosi sitten kirjomani kukkataulu.

The embroidered flower picture is made by me a year ago. 

Isovanhemmat tarvitsivat myös yöpöydät ja pöytälamput. Pöytien malli on tavallinen perusmalli.

The grandparents needed also bedside tables and table lamps. The model of the tables is an ordinary basic model.

Isoäiti rakastaa kukkia ja hän halusi kukkapylvään. Yläosassa olevan koristeet ovat pahvisesta viuhkasta.

Grandma loves flowers and she wanted a flower stand. The decorations of it are from a cardstock fan.

Pönttöuuni on tarpeellinen, koska Suomen talvet voivat olla hyvin kylmiä.

The stove is needful, because the winters in Finland can be very cold.

Makuuhuoneessa on myös vaatekaappi. Sitä en ole tehnyt itse. Aion maalatasen tummanruskeaksi, sillä en tykkää sen punertavasta väristä.

There is a wardrobe in the bedroom, too. I have bought it. I am not satisfied with the colour of it, because it is too red. I am going to paint it with dark brown paint.

I am very sorry. There has been some kind on virus here. The photos were away. I tried to correct this post and added the photos on the 20th April.

 

Jotain uutta Something new

Muutokset isovanhempien taloon on vielä tekemättä, mutta olen tehnyt jo joitakin uusia tavaroita sinne.

I haven`t done any changes to the grandparents´ home yet, but I have done some new things.

Tälläisiä lipastoja olen nähnyt monessa blogissa viime aikoina. Päätin kokeilla myös sellaista, koska ihastuin siihen.

This kind of furniture I have seen on many blogs lately. I decided to try it too, because I liked it.

Lipaston materiaalina käytin valmiiksi maalattua säleverholistaa. Jalat tein Japanista saamistani syömäpuikoista. Maalasin jalat tummanruskeiksi akryylimaalilla.

I made it from painted wooden blinds. The legs are from Japanese chopsticks. I painted the legs with  brown acrylic paint.

En ole koskaan ollut kovinkaan kiinnostunut käsinkirjonnasta, mutta päätin kokeilla, josko onnistuisin tekemään jotain nättiä.

I haven´t ever been interested in hand embroidery, but I decided to try, if I could do something pretty.

Isovanhempien talo Grandparents´ house

Sain tälläisen talon kesällä. Se on käytetty, mutta uuden veroinen. Siitä tulee isovanhempien talo. Muutan talon etuseinää ainakin ikkunoiden ja verannan osalta. Talo on nyt vanhan televisiotason päällä ja sitä on helppo käännellä, koska tasossa on alla pyörät.

I got this house in the summer. It is old, but like a new one. It will become a house for the grandparents. I´ll change the front wall of the house, at least for the windows and verandas. The house is on an old TV table and it is easy to turn owing to the weels under the table.

Väliseinät ovat mielestäni väärässä kohdassa. Oikeassa reunassa olevat huoneet ovat liian kapeita.

The walls between the rooms are not in the right place. The rooms in the right side of the house are too narrow.

 

Siirsin jo väliseiniä 5 senttiä ja nyt huonejako on mielestäni parempi.  En asenna portaikkoja ollenkaan, vaan suljen reijät. Aion tehdä myös ullakolle väliseinän.

I moved the wall already 5 cms and the rooms are now bigger. I am going to make a wall also in the attic.
