Tylsää Boring

 

 

Yesterday was a very boring day for Emily. She had to be at home, because then it is not appropriate to visit friends.

Pitkäperjantai oli Emilian mielestä hyvin tylsä. Piti olla kotona, koska silloin ei ole soveliasta vierailla ystävien luona.

He read the book "Bunny Tales" on Easter in the living room. It was an English book, but she coped well with the language.

Hän luki olohuoneessa pääsiäisaiheista kirjaa "Bunny Tales". Se oli englannin kielinen kirja,mutta hän selvityi hyvin kielestä.

 

The living room is also decorated for Easter.

Olohuonettakin  on koristeltu pääsiäiseksi.

There are same kind of pillows on the sofa than in the kitchen, but they are perfect for Easter.

Sohvalla on samanlaiset tyynyt kuin on keittiössä, mutta ne ovat täydelliset pääsiäiseen.

Illallinen The supper

 

It is again the time of year when the rooster plates and the jug are on the tablet. I like them a lot and I did them a few years ago. The supper includes chicken, oven-baked salmon, boiled potatoes, root casserole, egg cheese and green salad.

 

 On taas se aika vuodesta, jolloin kukko-lautaset ja kannu ovat päässeet esille. Tykkään niistä itse hyvin paljon ja tein ne muutama vuosi sitten. Illallisella tarjotaan broileria, uunissa paistettua lohta, keitettyjä perunoita, juuresvuokaa, munajuustoa ja vihersalaattia.

The dessert is pasha, sugar cake and braided bun decorated with chocolate eggs.

 

                Jälkiruuaksi on pashaa, sokerikakkua ja suklaamunin koristeltua letitettyä pullaa.

                            Parents drink white wine as a food drink and children drink milk.

                             Vanhemmat juovat ruokajuomana valkoviintä ja lapset maitoa.

 

The kitchen has Easter-themed items such as jars, a lovely chicken bowl and a chicken-cock tray. They are the family’s modest Easter treasures.          Happy Easter!

Keittiössä on pääsiäisaiheisia tavaroita kuten purkkeja, ihana kanakulho ja kana-kukko-tarjotin. Ne ovat perheen vaatimattomia pääsiäisaarteita.            Hyvää pääsiäistä!

Ompeluhuoneessa In the sewing room

 

Marianne has cleaned and organized her sewing room, because it is much pleasant to work there when all the goods are in place. She has been lately busy and decided to drink a cup of tea and eat a big sandwich as breakfast in her room.

 

Marianne on järjestänyt ja siivoillut ompeluhuoneensa siistiksi, koska siellä on miellyttävämpi työskennellä silloin, kun tavarat ovat paikoillaan. Hän on ollut viime päivinä kiireinen ja päätti juoda nyt kupillisen teetä ja syödä ison voileivän aamiaiseksi.

There is a violet crocus and a bowl of sweets on the table. Crocuses are Marianne's favorite flowers. It is the purples that are the most beautiful. There are white-and-yellow daffodils on the cabinet at the back.

 

 Pöydällä on ihana violetti krookus ja makeiskulho. Krookukset ovat Mariannen lempikukkia. Juuri violetit ovat niitä kauneimpia.

Takana olevan kaapiston päällä on valko-keltaisia narsisseja. 

 

 

 The early part of the year has been very heavy because of the sad news. It is nice for everyone to cheer up their minds. It is the yellow flowers that bring the sun to the room.

 

 Alkuvuosi on ollut hyvin raskas surullisten uutisten vuoksi. Kukilla on mukava piristää omaa mieltä. Juuri keltaiset kukat tuovat huoneeseen auringon.

Aamiainen Breakfast

 

Marianne´s kitchen has got an Easterish touch this week, because Easter is very soon.

Mariannen keittiössä on tunnelma muuttunut hieman, sillä siellä on pääsiäinen jo ovella.

She has two rabbit pillows on the bench and a chicken bowl on the table. The chicken bowl is very common thing in Finland and it is filled with candies usually.

Penkin päällä on kaksi jänistyynyä ja pöydällä on kanakulho. Kanakulho on hyvin perinteinen koriste meillä Suomessa ja sinne laitetaan yleensä makeisia.

She has cooked healthy porridge for breakfast. It tastes delicious with cold milk. Eetu and Emily eat daily bread and vegetables,but today both of them will eat also an egg.

Hän on keittänyt terveellistä puuroa aamiaiseksi. Se maistuu herkulliselta kylmän maidon kanssa. Eetu ja Emilia syövät leipää ja vihanneksia päivittäin, mutta tänään he syövät myös munan kumpikin.

Munien maalausta Painting Easter Eggs

 

Every Easter Emily and Eetu are painting eggs. It is very funny.

Jokaisena pääsiäisenä Emilia ja Eetu maalaavat munia. Se on kivaa.

They have some painted eggs in a bowl. They are made last year. This year Eetu has finished the first egg and he shows it to Emily. Emily says: "It is quite challenging to achieve pretty eggs by painting with watercolours."

Heillä on muutamia maalattuja munia kulhossa. Ne ovat viime vuodelta. Tänä vuonna Eetu on saanut maalattua ensimmäisen munan ja näyttää sitä Emilialle. Emilia sanoo: "On aika haasteellista saada aikaan kauniita munia maalaamalla vesivärein."

Eetu regrets his mind a bit, because he thinks the painting was just as successful.

Eetu pahoittaa hieman mielensä, sillä hänen mielestään maalaaminen onnistui ihan kelvollisesti.

Emily: "We have to practice now. There are many white eggs in the bowl. Maybe some of them do well and look great."

Emilia: "Meidän on harjoiteltava nyt. Kulhossa on monta valkoista munaa. Ehkä jotkut niistä onnistuvat hyvin ja näyttävät hienoilta."

Eetun salaisuus Eetu´s secret

 

Eetu oli hyvin nopea valitessaan huoneeseensa mieluisimmat koristeet. Ikkunalaudalle kivoja tipuja ja pikkupöydälle pupu ja ruoholautanen.

Eetu was very quick in choosing the most favorite decorations for his room. Nice chicks on the windowsill and a bunny and grass plate on the small table. In Finland it is common to grow grass on a plate for Easter. It represents the miracle of spring and growth.

Hänen munakorinsa on tyhjä vielä, mutta äiti oli ostanut ison avattavan pahvimunan, jonka sisällä on pieniä suklaarakeita. Niitä hän on jo maistanut.

His egg basket is still empty, but her mother had bought a big pop-up cardboard egg with small chocolate granules inside. She has already tasted them.

Kukaan ei ollut näkemässä, kun hän oli avannut kaksi suklaista yllätysmunaa ja syönyt niitä. Alunperin hänellä oli tarkoitus, että hän vain maistaa hieman suklaamunaa.

No one was seeing him after he opened two chocolate surprise eggs and ate them. Originally, he was meant to just taste a little chocolate egg.

Suklaa oli sulanutta ja se sotki hänen kätensä ja naamansa. Tuliko siitä hänelle hyvä mieli? Mitä arvelet?

Pääsiäisvalmisteluita Preparations for Easter

 

Emilia on odottanut pääsiäistä jo kauan. Vihdoinkin hän sai luvan koristella huonettaan. Ensiksi hän kuitenkin halusi pyhkiä pölyt ja vaihtoi keltaisen maton lattiaan ja värikkäitä tyynyjä sängylleen. Vanhat matot ja tyynyt hän vei varastokomeroon.

Emily has been waiting for Easter for a long time. She was finally allowed to decorate her room. At first, however, she wanted to wipe off the dust and change the yellow rug on the floor and the colorful pillows on his bed. She took the old rugs and pillows to the storage closet.

 

Tämän jälkeen hän alkoi levitellä koristeita ympäri huonettaan. Kirjoituspöydälle hän laittoi kaikista mieluisimmat koristeet, keltaiset narsissit, askartelutarvikkeet ja karkit.

 

She then began spreading decorations around her room. On the desk she put all her favorite decorations, yellow daffodils, craft supplies and candies.

Pöydällä on tosiaankin monta ihanaa tavaraa. Jakkaralla on hänen munakorinsa, joka on toistaiseksi tyhjä.

There is indeed a lot of wonderful stuff on the table. Her egg basket is on the stool, and it is empty for now.

There are an orange ball candles and a small candy bowl on the drawer.

Emily has decorated also her bed side table and bed.

I have Easter decorations, dishes and flowers in a box like this. From here, Emily chose the most suitable items for her room. Tomorrow another room will be decorated. I hope you are interested in coming and see which of these items have gotten there.

Tämä huone on isoäidin ja isoisän makuuhuone. Tässä kuvassa näkyvät tavarat olen tehnyt itse. Olen siis tehnyt puutöitä, ommellut käsin ja koneella, virkannut, muovaillut polymeerimassaa, askarrellut paperista.

This room is grandmother's and grandfather's bedroom. The goods shown in this picture I made myself. So I have done woodwork, sewed by hand and machine, crocheted, molded polymer clay, crafted a plant from paper.

Meillä Suomessa tarvitaan aina jokin lämmittämiskeino, koska syksystä kevääseen on kylmä. Tässä on pystymuuri, joka mahtuu pieneen huoneeseen. Telineessä on polttopuita. Puutuoli on ainut ostamani tavara. Virkkasin sille pehmustetyynyn.

We in Finland always need some way of heating, because it is cold from autumn to spring. Here is a vertical oven that can fit in a small room. There are firewood in the rack. The wooden chair is the only item I bought. I crocheted a cushion for it.

Seinällä oleva kirjottu kukkataulu on myös tekemäni.

The embroidered flower work on the wall is also what I made.

Sähkövalaistus ei ole vielä valmis, mutta se on tarpeellinen, koska huone on syvä ja sen vuoksi pimeä.

Electric lighting is not yet complete, but it is necessary because the room is deep and therefore dark.
