Tänään Today

 

Vähän aikaa sitten makuuhuoneessa tehtiin vähän muutoksia. 

 

Some weeks ago we made some changes in the bedroom.

Mariannella on nyt uusi nykyaikainen peilipöytä. Se on skandinaavista tyyliä.

Marianne now has a new modern dressing table.It is a Skandinavian style table.

 

Marianne on käynyt suihkussa. Ja hän miettii, mitä kaikkea hänen on ehdittävä tehdä päivän aikana.

Marianne has taken a shower. And she wonders what all she has to do during the day. 

Pizza lauantai Pizza Saturday

Marianne on leiponut pizzaa, mutta vain Eetu on tarpeeksi näkäinen.

Marianne has baked pizza, but only Eetu is hungry enough to eat it.

 Emiliankin on saapunut pöytään. Hän haistoi pizzan ihanan hajun.

 Emily has also arrived at the table. He smelled the wonderful smell of pizza.

 

Tuomo saapui viimeisenä. Hän ihmetteli keittiöstä kuuluvaa puheensorinaa, mutta ei ollut kuullut, että häntä olisi kutsuttu syömään. (Häntä on kutsuttu useita kertoja.)

Tuomo arrived last. He wondered at the murmur from the kitchen, but had not heard that he had been called to eat. (several times, indeed).

Kahvihetki Coffeetime

Mitä te olette tehneet viime päivinä? Meillä on ollut tuulista ja sateista. On ollut aikaa lukea,katsoa televisiota ja vain oleilla. Tänään Emilian perhe viettää kahvihetkeä olohuoneessa. Äiti on leiponut herkullisia kakkuja ja piirakan.

What have you been doing in recent days? The weather has been windy and rainy here. It’s been time to read, watch TV and just be there. Today, Emily’s family spends a coffeetime in the living room. Mom has baked delicious cakes and a pie.

Emilia ja Eetu kertovat vanhemmille, että monet heidän koulukaverinsa viettävät pääsiäistä Pohjois-Suomen laskettelukeskuksissa. Ja heillä on siellä tosi hauskaa. Toivottavasti he pysyvät siellä terveinä.

Emily and Eetu tell their parents that many of their schoolmates spend Easter at the ski resorts in Northern Finland. And they have a lot of fun there. I hope they stay there healthy.
 

Pääsiäislounas Easter lunch

 

 

Emilia ja Marianne ovat keittäneet lounaan ja kutsuvat muita perheenjäeseniä syömään. Heillä ei ilmeisesti ole nälkä, koska heitä pitää kutsua useita kertoja.

 

Emily and Marianne have cooked lunch and call other family members to eat.
They apparently are not hungry because they have to be called several times.

 Lounaalla tarjotaan keitettyjä perunoita, kanaa, pikkuporkkanoita, salaattia, juustoa ja pashaa.

 Boiled potatoes, chicken, small carrots, lettuce, cheese and pasha are served for lunch.

Nukkekodin huoneita on ihana stailata vuodenaikojen ja juhlapäivien mukaan. Nytkin keittiöön on lisätty pääsiäiseen liittyviä tavaroita.

It is lovely to decorate the rooms of the dollhouse according to the seasons and holidays. Even now, Easter-related items have been added to the kitchen.

The Easter Egg Hunt

 

Suklaiset yllätysmunat ovat lasten mielestä parhaita munia. Eetu on avannut kaksi munaa, joista tuli pienet purjeveneet. Hänellä oli kiire päästä avaamaan munat, sillä hän odotti niistä kivaa lelua.

Children think the chocolate surprise eggs are the best ones. Eetu has opened two eggs. He got two small sailing boats. He was in a hurry to open the eggs, because he wanted nice toys from them.

Emilia on tullut Eetun huoneeseen oman munakorinsa kanssa. Hän ihmettelee, miksi Eetulla oli niin kiire avata jo kaksi munaa.

Emilia has come to Eetu's room with her own egg basket.She wonders why Eetu was so in a hurry to open two eggs already.

Emilialla ja Eetulla on kummallakin kori täynnä munia. Niitä etsittiin sängystä, kaapista, kirjahyllystä ja monesta muustakin paikasta. Se oli hauskaa.

Emily and Eetu each have a basket full of eggs. They were searched for in the bed, closet, bookshelf, and many other places.  It was fun.

Lapsille on kerrottu, että pääsiäispupu tuo suklaamunat heille. He eivät ole kuitenkaan koskaan nähneet pääsiäispupuja. Eetulla on pöydällä kaksi puista pupua, mutta nehän ovat koristeita eikä oikeita eläimiä.

The children have been told that the Easter bunny brings chocolate eggs to them. However, they have never seen Easter bunnies. Eetu has two wooden bunnies on the table, but they are decorations and not real animals.

Munia maalaamassa Painting eggs

 

Emilialla ja Eetulla on tänä aamuna ollut hauskaa tekemistä. He ovat maalanneet munia. Se on tosin sotkuista puuhaa. Pöytäkin piti suojata paperilla. 

 

Emily and Eetu have had something funny to do this morning. They have painted eggs. It is a very messy task to do. The table had to be covered with paper.

 

Yhtenä ääsiäisperinteenä meillä Suomessa on laittaa vaasiin pajun oksia. Mutta toki me ostammekin paljon kukkia kuten narsisseja ja tulppaaneja.Suurimmassa osassa Suomea on vielä lunta maassa, joten emme voi poimia näitä kukkia puutarhastamme.

One of the Easter traditions in Finland is to put willow brances in the vase. But of course we buy a lot of flowers such as tulips and narcissuses. In the most parts of Finland there is still snow on the ground, so we can´t pick up these flowers from our garden.

Tärkeitä työ Important task

Emilian huoneessa on usein lattialla vaatteita, kuten alushousuja. Hänen vanhempansa eivät tykkää tästä. Siispä Emilian on siivottava huoneensa. Hän kerää ensin kaikki likaiset vaatteet koriin.

There are very often clothes, such as panties, on the floor in Emily´s room.Her parents don´t like it. That is why Emily has to clean her room. At first she collects the dirty clothes into a laundry basket.

Sitten hän imuroi lattian.

Then she vacuums the floor.

 

Ja pyyhkii pölyt.

And then she sweeps all the dust.

 

Pääsiäinen on ihan pian. Emilia haluaa koristella huoneensa. Hän ottaa esille laatikollisen vanhoja koristeita.

The Easter is very soon. Emily would like to decorate her room. She picks up the box of decorations from the closet.
